Great North Care Record
The Great North Care Record is a CHC NENC led initiative introduced in 2016 across the North East and North Cumbria region.
The Great North Care Record is currently providing ambulance, emergency departments, mental health and out of hours services with access to GP records. 98 per cent of GP practices in the North East and North Cumbria are currently sharing.
Work is underway to extend the use of the Great North Care Record into more hospital wards, pharmacy and social care. This includes developing a prototype which will allow the two way sharing of information through the procurement of a regional Health Information Exchange.
This Health Information Exchange will link to a Trusted Research Environment. Find out more about the prototype.
